🎶 November 30  – Advent Concert-4:00 PM – Sanctuary:  Begin the season with beautiful music! Featuring Angel Semidey, on our historic Moeller organ. Angel is a Palatka High School graduate and a University of North Florida music student. Angel currently sings with the UNF Chorale—a perfect, peaceful start to Advent.

🎄 December 13 – Parents’ Day Out-9:00 AM – 1:00 PM - Westminster Hall:  Need a break to shop, wrap, rest, or breathe? Bring the kids for fun, crafts, and care, while you handle your to-do list.

 🌶️ December 7 – Community Chili Cook-Off-4:00 – 6:00 PM – Westminster Hall:  Bring your best chili and your hungriest friends!
Taste as many as you like and vote with quarters for your favorites.
Spicy, mild, veggie, or wild—come enjoy good food and great company.

🎼 December 14  – Music Sunday   Cantata during Worship (10:30 AM)

Then at 4:00 PM – Messiah Sing-A-Long – Sanctuary:  Lift your voice with singers from Florida School of the Arts and our community. Whether you sing loudly, softly, or just in your heart, this beloved tradition is a joyful celebration for all.

⭐ December 21  – Drop-In No-Rehearsal Christmas Pageant - Sanctuary-4:00 PM –  Family-friendly, funny, and full of Christmas cheer!- Roles assigned on the spot—no experience, costumes, or preparation needed. Just show up and have fun.

🕯️ December 24  – Christmas Eve: Lessons & Carols-6:00 PM – Candlelight Service:  A traditional, reflective celebration of Jesus’ birth with scripture, carols, and community. Bring family, friends, and neighbors as we share the light of Christmas in community. T

Teens Inciting Change Offering $700 Idea Grants for High School Youth With Ideas

Palatka, FL - Local teens with a passion for making a difference now have the chance to turn their ideas into action. Teens Inciting Change (TIC), an initiative of First Presbyterian Church of Palatka, is awarding $700 idea grants to seven students in grades 9 through 12 to develop and implement a project that enhances the quality of life in Palatka and Putnam County.

“We believe that young people in our community have great ideas about what will make their community better,” said Steve Crowley, who leads the initiative for the church. “Therefore, we have created a way for them to bring their vision, albeit in a small way, to life for all of our community residents.”

Students in grades 9 through 12 are encouraged to submit project proposals soon. Ideas will be accepted until all grants have been awarded. Whether it’s a service project, an arts or environmental initiative, or a social impact idea, TIC is committed to supporting youth-led solutions. A parent or guardian is required to sign the application as well as the developer to indicate they understand that the project is being submitted and they support their youth.

The proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee and seven projects will be selected. Recipients will be notified by text and or email. They may be required to meet with the selection committee to discuss their project and will be expected to make a public presentation about their project at an event when it is done.
